AM I SUITABLE CANDIDATE FOR A COSMETIC EYEBROW TATTOO?

**If you would like an optional patch test done, a 15-minute appointment will need to be made before booking in for your cosmetic tattoo appointment at a cost of $50. If the patch test displays no adverse reactions 24/48 hours after application, you may proceed with booking in a cosmetic tattoo appointment. Please be aware that even if a patch test shows no adverse reactions, it does not 100% guarantee that you will not react to a product during your appointment.**

REASONS WHY I MAY NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR A COSMETIC TATTOO

UNDER 18:

We cannot tattoo anyone under the age of 18, even with parental consent.

PREVIOUS PERMANENT MAKEUP:

If you have an existing cosmetic tattoo please send through a photo as it will first need to be assessed prior to booking in.

SKIN CONDITIONS/DISORDERS (FACE ONLY):

  • Skin complications/disorders - People who are prone to or have skin complications/disorders (in area of tattoo) such as trichotillomania, eczema, psoriasis, keratosis pilaris, rosacea, chronic acne, and dermatitis, will not be suitable whilst affected by these skin disorders.

  • State of skin - We cannot tattoo over any moles, sores/pimples, or compromised skin. If you have a sore/pimple, you will need to first wait until it has fully healed before being tattooed.

  • Sunburn - You will need to wait until your skin has healed and resumed to its normal colour before you can be tattooed.

  • Hair transplant - If you have had a hair transplant to your eyebrows, you will unfortunately not be able to be tattooed.

MEDICATIONS/TOPICAL SKIN CARE & TREATMENTS:

  • Roaccutane/Accutane/Isotretinoin/Doxycycline/Epiduo Gel/Cortisone/Steroids/Retin-A/Renova/Retinoids or their derivatives - If you are currently on or have been on any medications within the last 18 months, you will not be suitable for cosmetic tattooing.

  • Active skin care ingredients (skin/blood thinners) such as Retinol/Vitamin A/Glycolic acid – You will need to discontinue the use of any Retinol/Vitamin-A/Glycolic acids in the area of the tattoo for at least one month prior to your cosmetic tattooing.

  • Latisse/EyEnvy (or any growth serum being used on your eyebrows) - You will need to discontinue use of any growth serums 1 month before your tattoo session and cannot resume till 2 months after the procedure.

  • Botox/Injectables - Botox or injectables will need to be done 4 weeks prior or 2 + weeks after your appointment making sure to advise the technician to avoid touching your brows and disrupting the healing process. You should aim to have your tattoo done before any injectables while your face still has natural movement.

  • Coumadin/Heparin/Blood Thinning or Anti-Coagulant Medication - We cannot tattoo you if you are on/have been on these within 9 months of your booking, after which you will require an approval letter from your treating physician.

  • Skin Antiseptics/ Topical Anaesthetics including Dental Anaesthetic - We cannot tattoo you if you have ever had any adverse reactions to Skin Antiseptics/ Topical anaesthetics including dental anaesthetic.

OTHER MEDICATIONS THAT MAY AFFECT THE OUTCOME OF THE TATTOO:

(THOUGH DOES NOT PRECLUDE YOU FROM GETTING ONE)

  • Thyroid Medication - Some people on thyroid medication may find that they need to have their tattoo pigments refreshed more frequently as the colour sometimes can fade faster.

  • Cholesterol and Blood Pressure Medication - Can sometimes lead to more pigment/colour loss resulting in extra sessions being required at additional costs.

If you have an active cold sore in the area being tattooed, you will need to wait at least 3 weeks after it has healed. If you have a cold sore on a separate part of your face than is being tattooed, you will need to keep it covered with “Compeed patches” or something similar to prevent spreading/infection.

  • Cancer/Radiotherapy/Chemotherapy - For many who have had cancer/undergone radiation treatments, the risk of infection is higher. As your safety is our number one focus, you will need to wait at least 6 months post-treatment and need your doctor’s consent/approval before undergoing a cosmetic tattoo. Please contact us before booking in to discuss options.
